On April 5, 2024, Water Watch Penang (WWP) successfully carried out the ‘Negalitres for Schools’ River and Water Education Programme at SJKC SUM MIN. The program engaged 34 students and 10 teachers from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Mr. Hanson Yeoh, the WWP Programme Officer, along with assistance from interns – Mr. Dane Lim Chiu Tong, Ms. Nur Atiqah Binti Roslan, and Ms. Nur Fatin Azahara, initiated the session with an enlightening presentation. This presentation started with a brief introduction of the organization. Subsequently, the students were introduced to the global water crisis, followed by discussions on national and local water crises.
Next, students were introduced to the global water crisis, with a particular emphasis on the challenges faced by African nations in obtaining clean water, utilizing the narrative of the storybook “The Water Princess.” Mr. Hanson Yeoh vividly conveyed the story’s content, deepening the student’s impression of the preciousness of water resources.
