On August 22, 2024, Water Watch Penang (WWP) held the “Negalitres for Schools” River and Water Education Program at SMK Bukit Jambul, one of the 100 participating schools. The event took place from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and included 2 teachers and 57 students from Form 2 and Form 5 classes.

Negalitres for School- River and Water Education Program at SMK Jelutong – 20th August 2024

Water Watch Penang (WWP) successfully held the “Negalitres for Schools” River and Water Education Program at SMK Jelutong on August 20, 2024. The event ran from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and involved nearly 200 students from Form 1 to Form 3. The objectives of this program were to raise awareness among students about global water challenges and the importance of minimizing water consumption. WWP Education Officers, Ms. Atiqah and Ms. Fatin Azahara, were the presenters of this event, with assistance from three interns—Ms. Fatin Amira, Ms. Husna, and Ms. Khor Ci Shan.

“NEGALITRES FOR SCHOOL” RIVER AND WATER EDUCATION PROGRAMME AT SK BUKIT GELUGOR – 15TH AUGUST 2024

The ‘Negalitres for Schools’ River and Water Education Programme, hosted by Water Watch Penang (WWP), was conducted at SK Bukit Gelugor on August 15, 2024, and involved 50 students and 5 teachers from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. The event was facilitated by WWP Programme Officer Ms. Fatin Azahara, Ms. Nur Atiqah, and their interns, Ms. Nurul Husna, Ms. Nurl Fatin and Ms. Khor Ci Shan. This initiative was designed to foster responsible water usage and to clarify and explain further about both local and global water issues.

“Negalitres for School” River and Water Education Program at SM Sains Tun Syed Sheh Shahabudin -14th August 2024

On 14 August 2024, the ‘Negalitres for Schools’ River and Water Education Programme was successfully organized at Sekolah Menengah Sains Tun Syed Sheh Shahabudin by Water Watch Penang (WWP). The program ran from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM during the Co-curriculum Day and involved nearly 600 students from Form 1 to Form 4, along with one teacher. The aims of the program were to highlight the importance of reducing water consumption and to increase students’ awareness of global and regional water issues.

Networking Trip with UKM, Short River Education Programme at Taman Jajar, Pulau Pinang – 20th May 2024.

On May 20th, 2024, Water Watch Penang (WWP) hosted a successful short river education program for students from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) as part of their Networking Trip to Taman Jajar Sungai Ara. The program engaged a diverse group of participants, including nine UKM students, three international students from USM, and Dr. Ang Wei Lun, UKM Leader from the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering.

The program commenced with a warm welcome by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tan Mou Leong, Vice President of Water Watch Penang, followed by a brief overview of WWP’s crucial sustainability initiatives.
