GEOGRAPHY FIELD WORK WITH PRINCE OF WALES ISLAND INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS PROGRAMME – 4 JULY 2022, TAMAN JAJAR, SUNGAI ARA, PENANG

4 July 2022: Water Watch Penang has successfully conducted a geography field work for the year 10 students (Form 4 equivalent) of Prince of Wales Island International Schools at Taman Jajar, Sungai Ara, Pulau Pinang.

The programme was attended by a total of 22 students participants and two teachers, and the facilitator involved in this field work was Dr Hong Chern Wern, Executive Manager at Water Watch Penang. This programme was also assissted by two trained volunteers, Nursyazana and Azilah from Universiti Sains Malaysia.

Introductory Course on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) – 13 to 15 June 2022 – School of Humanities, Universiti Sains Malaysia.

A total of 12 participants from Majlis Bandaraya Pulau Pinang (MBPP), Jabatan Pengaliran dan Saliran (JPS-PERLIS), Lembaga Sumber Air Negeri Kedah, Lembaga Urus Air Selangor, Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam, and WWF-Malaysia participated in the training course programme Introduction to Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) at the School of Humanities, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) for three days starting from June 13 to 15 June 2022.

The programme aims to provide information sharing on the water in Malaysia in collaboration with the Water Watch Penang (WWP), UNESCO CPI, and supported by the Global Environment Center (GEC) and the School of Humanities, USM.

Water Saving Kits are the best way to save water – China Press

Penang: Plastic bottles in toilets, Thimbles in water hoses, water-saving, and short haircuts can also save water!

Domestic water consumption per capita (per person) in Penang reached a record of 301 litresliters per day, which is much higher than the country’s average per capita water consumption of 230 liters.

In a joint interview with China Press, the President of the Water Watch Penang, Prof. Dr. Chan Ngai Weng, called on the public to save water.
