27 August 2022: Water Watch Penang (WWP) hosted a water education programme, the “Negalitres for Schools” Programme, on the 27th of August 2022 at SMK Kampong Selamat. A total of 64 Form 4 students and 2 teachers from the school along with Cik Fatin Habsah Binti Ahmad, the Senior Assistant Environmental Health Officer from Majlis Bandaraya Seberang Perai.

‘NEGALITRES FOR SCHOOLS’ River and Water Education Programme at SJK(T) Ladang Changkat, SK Batu Ferringhi, and SJK(C) Shih Chung Cawangan – 19, 24, 25 August 2022
25 August 2022: Water Watch Penang (WWP) has conducted water education programme in three schools: SJK(T) Ladang Changkat (19 August), SK Batu Ferringhi (24 August), and SJK(C) Shih Chung Cawangan (25 August).
River Education Session with LRGS – Universiti Partners – 28th August 2022, Taman Jajar, Sungai Ara.
28th August 2022 – A short river water education awareness programme took place on the 28th August 2022 at Taman Jajar, Sungai Ara with the participation from partners in Universiti Sains Malaysia and their research collaborators from Universiti Putra Malaysia and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia under the Long Term Research Grant Scheme (LRGS) for Water Balance research project.

20 August: Water Watch Penang (WWP), in collaboration with Majlis Bandaraya Seberang Perai (MBSP), has undertaken a river education programme with Bukit Mertajam High School students. A total of 28 secondary students, along with 2 teachers and 3 MBSP officers led by Puan Roslinda, took part in the programme.
Dr. Hong Chern Wern, the Executive Manager of WWP, led the event, which began with an introduction to the organization and a discussion of the global and local water crisis. Then, Dr. Hong educated the students on evaluating river water quality and strategies to preserve and save water, thus raising awareness among the younger generation in light of Penang’s excessive water use.
‘NEGALITRES FOR SCHOOLS’ River and Water Education Programme at SJK(C) Poi Eng, SJK(C) Li Tek Cawangan, and SJK(C) Hu Yew Seah — 15-17 August 2022
17 August 2022: Water Watch Penang (WWP) has held another water education programme titled “Negalitres for Schools” from 15 to 17 August 2022 in three primary schools, namely SJK(C) Poi Eng, SJK(C) Li Tek Cawangan, and SJK(C) Hu Yew Seah. Most of the students who took part were from Standard 4 to 6.
The Executive Manager of WWP, Dr. Hong Chern Wern, gave an opening address to the students, outlining the organization’s goals, its history of conducting core operations in conjunction with other societies, and the WWP’s latest competition and campaign.
