WWP CONDUCTED A RIVER AND WATER EDUCATION PROGRAMME AT TENBY INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, PENANG

18th April 2023 – Water Watch Penang successfully conducted a river and water education programme at Tenby International School, Penang during their launch of STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts Maths) week on 17th and 18th April 2023.

WWP Executive Manager Dr Hong Chern Wern began the talk by introducing WWP’s history, goals, and past activities. He also explained to the students regarding the water crisis around the world, water treatment processes, water conservation, water-saving technologies and other water-related issues.

Water Watch Penang conducted a river and water education programme for 11 and 12 years old students from Tenby International School, Penang during their launch of STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts Maths) week.

Furthermore, WWP gave out some slow-flow inserts for taps, ‘Washers’ by Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) to students and teachers. The programme ended with a quiz where three lucky winners received a t-shirt.

The river and water education programme is a collaborative effort with Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) that involve not only national schools but also private and international schools from this year onwards.
