On August 10th, 2024, Water Watch Penang (WWP) participated in an exhibition on Canteen Day hosted by SK Kongsi. The main objective of this invitation by SK Kongsi, was to provide an avenue for the students to learn about water education in Penang. The exhibition was actively organised by WWP’s Executive Manager, Dr. Hong Chern Wern, along with two Education Officers, Ms. Atiqah and Ms. Fatin Azahara and three interns, Ms. Fatin Amira, Ms. Husna, and Ms. Khor Ci Shan.
The exhibition saw participation from over 100 students. Students get to enjoy educational activities during the exhibition such as ‘snake and ladders’ water-based games and water treatment processes. The event was particularly beneficial for the students of SK Kongsi, who had the opportunity to learn about water conservation and river education from WWP. Students who participated in the game and lessons, were given button badge and notebooks.
In addition to the exhibition, Ms. Atiqah and Ms. Fatin Azahara also served as judges for the drawing competitions held at SK Kongsi. Besides, Water Watch Penang extends its gratitude to SK Kongsi for the invitation and looks forward to future collaborations. SK Kongsi is one of the 100 participating schools in Penang under the Negalitres for Schools Programme.
