Meet our new intern, Ms. Lee Tze Ee from the School of Communication majoring in journalism from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).
Lee Tze Ee or Jocelyn is currently a final year undergraduate student pursuing her Bachelor of Communication (Honours) majoring in journalism at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). She was born and raised in Ipoh, Perak.
Being a former school athlete, Jocelyn loves to swim, hike and jog during her spare time. She particularly has a fondness for water sports ever since she learned to swim at an early age. Besides, she also serves as a lifeguard at USM where she learned about lifesaving skills, water survival skills, and water safety issues.
Jocelyn’s passion for water safety issues has piqued her interest to learn more about other important water-related issues. Therefore, she decided to apply for an internship at the Water Watch Penang (WWP) after learning about the NGO’s mission and vision. She is eager to be involved in the water education programmes and field work held by WWP as it would be a great exposure and an eye-opening experience.
Furthermore, Jocelyn believes that it will be a wonderful opportunity to start her future career path in environmental journalism through WWP. She is keen to apply the journalism skills that she learned at USM while gaining valuable knowledge and insight regarding water sustainability, water scarcity, and other water issues in Malaysia. Henceforth, Jocelyn hopes that the knowledge gained in WWP will enable her to contribute to the community by raising awareness and educating the public regarding water issues for a better and more sustainable future.
