In conjunction with the World Environment Day 2020, the Johor Boy’s Brigade via Mr Ethan Pang, invited Water Watch Penang to present a water education talk via zoom on the 6th of June 2020. The online talk utilising ‘zoom’ was attended by a total of 34 participants from the Boy’s Brigade team ranging from 13 to 17 years old with some of their working officers.
Prof Dr Chan Ngai Weng, the President of Water Watch Penang, gave an opening speech, followed by Dr Hong Chern Wern who was the main presenter for the programme. Ms Phang Wai Leng, the Programme Coordinator also attended the talk together as well as assisting in Q n A Session.
The topics covered during the talk include the history, mission, aim, and activities of Water Watch Penang, followed by water issues around the world, in Malaysia while zooming into Johor and Penang. At the end of the talk, steps in water savings were shared with everyone with the hope that everyone will take action to improve their water consumption.
