Penang Chief Minister's Advice on Saving Water

Above (Source: Kwong Wah Jit Poh, 19 April 2008): Prof Dr Chan Ngai Weng, President of Water Watch Penang warns that giving free water, even the first 20 cubic metres (like what Selangor is proposing to do in June 2008), will see consumers wasting more water. Water must never be given "free" as nobody values something that is free. Instead, all State Governments should educate their citizens on the importance and true value of water so that people can manage their water demands via recycling, reduction of usage, re-use of water and other means (see tips on water saving in this website).
